A simple, fast and private text reader
17 languages, your own voices
The playback language automatically follows the page language, and the selector lets you pass from one language to another: French, English, Spanish, German, Chinese, Arabic, Japanese… The voices used are the ones already installed in your browser or system.
Choose a voiceSpeed, pitch, volume
Double the speed to proofread an article, slow down for dense text, raise or lower the pitch and the volume. Settings apply immediately and stay in effect for the rest of the playback.
Adjust the voiceSentence-by-sentence playback
Progress follows the sentences: a bar shows where you are and the current sentence is displayed during playback. Select a passage in the text and start "Play selection" to read only what interests you.
Play a selectionPrivate: Volade receives nothing
The text is passed straight to your browser's voice API, never to our servers: no account, no upload, no history on Volade's side. Ideal for sensitive documents — contracts, notes, internal reports.

Paste your text
Type or paste your content, import a .txt file, or insert the sample text to try it right away. The text is kept in your browser.
Choose the language and voice
The language matches the page; change it to listen in another language. Then select an available voice and adjust speed, pitch and volume.
Play, pause, start over
Click "Play": playback advances sentence by sentence with a progress bar. Pause, resume, stop, or replay only the selection.

Online text to speech, free and without an account
The text to speech (text-to-speech or TTS) turns written text into spoken words. Volade runs it directly in your browser, with the voices already on your device: no account, no installation, no sending of text to a server. It is the simplest way to listen to a text aloud wherever you are.
Reading a text aloud rather than puzzling through it saves time, flags wording mistakes, prevents eye strain and helps you remember. Students, writers, travellers or people with low vision find an instant tool here: the text stays private, playback starts in one click.
How does text to speech work?
The browser splits the text into sentences, hands them to its speech engine (Web Speech API) and speaks each one after the previous, with the chosen voice and settings. Volade shows the progress and the current sentence, but holds no part of the process: if your device does not have the voice for the requested language, the tool tells you and falls back to the default voice.
Which languages are available?
17 languages, from Spanish to Japanese, taking in Arabic, Hindi or Polish. The choice takes one click and the voice list refreshes automatically. For better quality, use a recent browser: Chrome, Edge and Safari ship natural voices, Firefox supports the API with the system voices.
Settings: speed, pitch, volume
The speed (0,5× to 3×) speeds up a reading or slows down complex text; the pitch changes the tone from low to high; the volume adjusts the sound level. Combine these settings freely during playback, and use "Play selection" to handle only an extract: a great habit for proofreading an article, a script or a thesis.
Who is this tool for?
Writers and students who want to proofread their texts by ear, content creators preparing a script, people with low vision or tired eyes, children learning to read, adults practising a foreign language — or simply to listen to an article while you do something else.
