The Volade file converter transforms your images, PDFs, audio files, videos, text documents, spreadsheets, e-books and archives directly in your browser — without ever sending them to a server. Unlike classic converters that require an upload before each conversion, here everything happens on your device: processing is instant, your files stay private and the conversion works even offline.

The tool only offers the conversions actually possible for each file: once you drop a file, it shows the available output formats (for example JPG, PNG, WebP, PDF for an image; WAV, MP3, OGG for audio; GIF, WebM, MP4 for a video). Each format of the catalogue honestly states which conversions actually run locally in your browser; nothing is ever sent to a server.

Which conversions are possible?

Images: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG, ICO, AVIF between them, and several images assembled into a single PDF. PDF: each page exported as JPG or PNG, or text extracted as TXT. Audio: MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, FLAC and others decoded to WAV, MP3, M4A or OGG (128 kbit/s). Videos: MP4, WebM, MOV, OGV converted to animated GIF, WebM or MP4, with audio track extraction to WAV or MP3. Text and code: Markdown, HTML, CSV, JSON, YAML, SQL, JavaScript, Python, LaTeX… converted to TXT or PDF. Archives: ZIP, TAR, TGZ, GZ converted between them and decompressed on the spot. Utilities: any file encoded in Base64 or hexadecimal, and vice versa.

A conversion, zero compromise on privacy

Classic online converters store your file on their servers, sometimes only for a few minutes — but always a few seconds too many for a sensitive document. Volade does the opposite: decoding and encoding are done by the native technologies of your browser (canvas, Web Audio, MediaRecorder, CompressionStream). No data is transmitted: neither your photos, nor your PDF contracts, nor your recordings, nor your archives. That's also what makes the tool extremely fast: no network round-trip, the conversion starts as soon as you release the file.

The catalogue: 84 formats, in full transparency

Rather than claiming "more than 300 formats" without specifying where they are processed, Volade displays each format with three statuses: reading (the file is recognized), writing (the file can be produced) and local conversion (the transformation is actually executed in your browser). The heavy proprietary formats (RAR, 7Z, DWG, PSD, HEIC, WMA, MKV…) are identified and marked Premium or "being deployed": you know exactly what works, before even dropping a file.

All conversions are free and unlimited, without an account and without a queue. Only the file size can exceed the free ceiling: above 10 MB the file is treated as a large file (Premium), always decoded 100% locally in your browser.
