Yes. The Volade QR Code generator is completely free, unlimited and requires no sign-up. You can create as many static QR Codes as you want, with no limit on duration or scans.

Does my data leave my device?

No. All generation happens in your browser: your link, text or contact information is never uploaded, stored or analyzed by our servers.

What is the lifespan of a QR Code?

A static QR Code, like the ones generated here, cannot expire: it will last indefinitely as long as the target destination (for example your website) exists. Be wary of "dynamic" free generators that block your code after a trial.

How do I add a logo to my QR Code?

Open the "Logo" tab in the customization panel, then drag an image (PNG, SVG, WebP or JPG up to 3 MB) onto the area or click it to browse. The logo is integrated locally, without sending anything to a server.

Does a QR Code with a logo remain readable?

Yes. The logo is placed in the center, in an area the QR Code can correct (high error-correction level). We keep a white margin around the logo to preserve the legibility of the whole code.

How do I create a Wi-Fi QR Code?

Choose "Wi-Fi" as the content type, then enter the network name (SSID), the security type (WPA/WPA2, WEP or open) and the password. By scanning the code, your visitors connect instantly, without typing. See the FAQ.

Is a QR Code paid?

No, a QR Code itself is a simple drawing generated locally: it is totally free. It's its usage (static forever, or "dynamic" with statistics and redirects) that can become paid with some services. Volade offers it for free and unlimited.

Can I modify a QR Code after creating it?

A static QR Code directly encodes its content: to modify it, you must generate a new one. This is a guarantee of durability — your code depends neither on a subscription nor on a third-party server that could stop working.

What download formats?

PNG for the web and social networks, SVG for perfect vector quality at print (logo, card, poster), and JPG for everyday uses. You can also copy the QR Code directly to the clipboard.

How do I scan a QR Code safely?

Use the native camera of your smartphone or a recognized reader like Google Lens, and always check the displayed address before clicking. Beware of QR Codes stuck over others on public furniture or menus: that's the signature of a phishing attempt.

Can I generate several QR Codes at once?

What's the difference between a static and a dynamic QR Code?

A static QR Code directly encodes the final address in the drawing: it is definitive, free and depends on no server. A dynamic QR Code uses a redirect and lets you change the target, but depends on a subscription that can expire. Volade favors static, reliable and durable.

How do I create a QR Code for a social network?

In the "Social networks" category, choose the platform (Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest or Telegram) and enter your username or link. The scan opens your profile or channel directly.

Can I add an event to my visitors' calendar?

Yes. The "Event" type encodes the title, start and end date, location and description directly in the code; the "Google Calendar" type instantly creates an event in the calendar upon scanning. Ideal for invitations.

Do QR Codes with special shapes stay readable?

Yes. The decorative shapes (dots, leaf, diamond, star…) are drawn so as to preserve the geometry of the code, and the markers of the three corners remain respected. We recommend good contrast and enough margin for a reliable scan on all phones.

Which format should I choose for printing?

For a sharp print at any scale, prefer SVG (a vector image that never pixelates) or a high-resolution PNG (up to 3072 px). JPG and PDF formats also work for printing and everyday sharing.

Can I use a color gradient on my QR Code?

Yes, the "Gradient" tab lets you apply a linear, horizontal or radial gradient on the modules, with two colors and an adjustable angle. Keep enough contrast between modules and background to maintain a reliable scan.

Which background color should I avoid?

A QR Code relies on contrast: dark modules on a light background scan best. Avoid modules and background of the same or too-close colors, as well as bright red backgrounds (which contain black), and always leave a clear margin around the code.

Are my QR Codes translated/stored somewhere?

No. Generation happens entirely in your browser: the content you enter is neither uploaded, stored nor analyzed. That's one of the great advantages of a static QR Code created locally.

Is a vCard business card compatible with all phones?

Yes. The vCard QR Code follows the standard VCard 3.0 format recognized by iOS, Android and most contact managers. Upon scanning, the phone offers to save the card (name, company, phone, email, website) to contacts.

Can I create a QR Code for a payment or crypto?

Yes. The "Crypto" type encodes a wallet address (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether) with an optional amount, and the "UPI Payment" type generates a UPI payment link. The code stays static: it's the recipient's app that interprets the data at scan.

What is the maximum capacity of a QR Code?

A QR Code can contain up to 2953 bytes in binary mode — about 4296 alphanumeric or 7089 numeric characters. For long texts or dense messages, the code size grows and the error correction decreases; we display the number of modules and the correction level live to guide you.

Can I change the size of the exported image?

Yes. The "Size" tab offers output sizes from 256 px (for small uses, emails or favicons) up to 3072 px (for posters and large formats). You also set the quiet-zone margin to make the scan reliable at print.
